The Guidance & Counseling Department provides a multitude of services and resources to assist students in developing plans for the future. The School Counseling Program is committed to focusing on the needs, interests, and issues related to student growth as well as the individual development in academic, career, and personal/social areas. By guiding and nurturing the whole student, we help build the skills necessary to be successful both academically and socially at NHS and beyond.

There is a $5.00 fee per transcript.

What dual enrollment opportunities do you have?
The high school partners with local colleges to offer dual enrollment courses. Students can earn both high school and college credit for approved courses. Details are available through the guidance office. You can also view additional details on our Dual Enrollment page.
When do students meet their special education liaisons? When will the liaisons reach out to parents?
When and how can students meet their counselor?
Students can meet their school counselor by appointment or during scheduled counselor check-ins. Counselors provide academic planning, social-emotional support, and college/career guidance. View our School Counselor Assignment page to see who your student's counselor is.
What school supplies do students need?
Supplies may vary by teacher, and will be communicated by teachers by the first and second week of school. Examples of what students can purchase preemptively include:
- Notebooks or binders for each class
- Folders
- Writing utensils (pens, pencils, highlighters)
- Planner or digital calendar
- iPad fully charged daily
How do students balance athletics and academics?
How can students get involved in clubs and activities?
Students can explore clubs and activities during the Club & Activities Fair at the beginning of the year. Additional information is available through announcements and our Clubs & Activities page.
How do lunches work and when are they assigned? What spaces are available to sit in the cafeteria?
What are the library hours and when can students access the library?
The library is open during school hours. Students can access it before school, during study halls, or with teacher permission. Exact hours are posted annually in the library, and on the library's home page.

Should I still use Aspen and MySchoolBucks?
Yes. Both Aspen and MySchoolBucks continue to be used as students transition from Nock to the high school for grades, attendance, and lunch account management.
