Toxicology is a scientific discipline, overlapping with biology, chemistry, pharmacology, and medicine. Toxicology is the scientific study of adverse effects that occur in living organisms due to chemicals. This class will largely be research based on case studies. Additionally, toxicology detects the presence of toxins substances in various sample types, therefore the class will be lab based as well. Topics include: History and Principles of Toxicology, Understanding Hazard and Risk, Toxiokinetics & Toxiodynamics, Reaction Mechanisms, Environmental Toxicology, and Ecotoxicology.
