The Internship Program allows students to explore career aspirations, as well as to gain work experience. Internships are set up throughout the community and encompass several career areas. Students will be expected to provide their own transportation to and from the work site, as well as help with finding an internship. Academic credit is contingent upon submission of weekly timesheets, weekly journal entries, regular attendance on the job, workplace evaluations from their respective supervisor/mentor, and a completed capstone project. Students will only be allowed to complete their internships at the beginning or end of their school day, unless preapproved by the internship coordinator. Internship opportunities for students at Newburyport High School are noted below.
