In German 4 students become more familiar with Germany’s position and role in Europe as well as the other German speaking countries. Skills necessary to function well in a German-speaking city are taught using authentic materials in addition to the text. Significant early historical events beginning with the crowning of Charlemagne as emperor in Rome in 800 up through the Middle Ages are covered. Discussion skills, critical thinking, and analytical writing are emphasized. Qualifying seniors have the option to take the STAMP assessment for the Seal of Bi-literacy.
