German 1 is a beginning course for students with little or no previous knowledge of German. The course focuses on acclimating students to language learning. It emphasizes positive reinforcement and teaches students to be confident language learners. Students learn to talk about themselves, their families and friends, their hobbies and interests, their favorite foods. They talk and write about what they like to do, and they learn how to arrange appointments and dates.
