In this course, students learn about fitness and how to apply it to their lives so that they can lead an independent healthy lifestyle. The class teaches students the benefits of exercise, how to gauge fitness levels, and how to set and keep goals. In addition, students will learn the basics of nutrition as it pertains to maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Throughout the course, students will experience a variety of exercise programs and techniques, including strength training circuits. Students will begin the course with a fitness test for baseline fitness data which they will compare to a final fitness test, completed at the end of the course. This course takes place primarily in the weight room. All athletes should be aware of the rigorous workouts so there won't be any conflicts with their athletic season.
