PREREQUISITES: Must have successfully completed Biology.

Environmental Chemistry will cover all the major topics covered in the regular sophomore chemistry course. In addition to those topics, this course explores the chemical processes and principles that influence the environment. Through the lens of chemistry, this course will focus on how human activities impact natural systems. With hands-on experiments, real-world case studies, and collaborative projects, students will develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Students will understand the chemical basis of environmental challenges and propose informed, science-based solutions. This course was designed to meet a technical course requirement for the Environmental Innovation Career Pathway and the sophomore chemistry requirement.
