Students are required to take the Advanced Placement Exam given by the College Board in May and must pay any requisite costs for the exam.
PREREQUISITES: A- in CP 1 Biology and Chemistry or a B in Honors Biology and Chemistry are required for Juniors and Seniors along with a recommendation and consultation with teacher. A in Honors Biology and a concurrent Honors Chemistry class is required for Sophomores along with a recommendation and consultation with teacher.
This course is for students seriously considering the study of engineering or advanced science at the college level in this area of Science. This is an advanced placement course that mimics a college primary biology class and follows the College Board Advanced Placement biology curriculum. College-level textbooks are used and a comparable level of achievement is expected. Therefore, the amount of work, depth of work, and homework assignments is considerable. Students electing to take this course must consider the possibility of having to set aside extra time beyond the school day for instructional reinforcement with the instructor.
