PREREQUISITE: Have taken and received a B+ or better in Fitness for Life

This course is designed to enhance the students' current level of knowledge and expertise to an advanced level in the area of strength training and conditioning. The course will focus on the assessment and implementation of training programs with strong emphasis on the areas of resistance training, flexibility, reaction time, speed, and agility. Students will learn the basic biomechanics of movement during training; apply knowledge of muscle structure and physiology to exercise selection and program design and determine appropriate testing techniques in the evaluation of athletes and their performance; evaluate physical training strategies.
