Students are required to take the Advanced Placement Exam given by the College Board in May and must pay any requisite costs for the exam.
PREREQUISITE: B+ or better in Algebra II and Teacher Recommendation
This course will allow students with a desire to have a thorough and in-depth knowledge of Statistics to take a full year elective. Students will be required to take the AP Statistics Exam in May. Satisfactory performance on the AP exam will allow students to earn credit for a one-semester college course at many colleges and universities. This course will introduce students to the major concepts and tools for collecting, analyzing, and drawing conclusions from data. Students are exposed to exploring data, planning a study, anticipating patterns, and statistical inference. Students will use graphing calculators and computers to perform data analysis and simulations.
