Students are required to take the Advanced Placement Exam given by the College Board in May and must pay any requisite costs for the exam.

PREREQUISITE: A or better in Pre-Calculus Honors and Teacher Recommendation

This course is designed for highly motivated students who have a strong interest in enrolling in an intensive upper level math course. The course will address the major concepts of differential and integral calculus. This will include both the methods and the applications. Students will need to be able to develop concepts and do problems through multiple representations (algebraically, graphically, numerically, and verbally). AP Calculus BC extends all topics from AP Calculus AB. These extensions will include parametric, polar, and vector functions. Additionally, the concepts will be extended using polynomial approximations and series. Students will be required to take the AP Calculus Exam in May. Students can earn college credit for Calculus if they earn an appropriate score on the AP exam. Students will be required to use a graphing calculator as mandated by the AP syllabus put out by the Educational Testing Service.
