PREREQUISITE: Introduction to Business and Marketing.
This course concentrates on starting and growing new businesses. During this semester course, students will investigate the concepts, tools, and practices of entrepreneurship. This course will concentrate on: identifying new venture opportunities (versus ideas), evaluating the viability of a new venture, writing a business plan, understanding which skills are necessary for success, marketing and selecting a type of business ownership, and learning about the financial management strategies of being an entrepreneur. At the end of this course, students will be able to write, and present a business plan that will be ready for investor review, and possess a better understanding of their personal entrepreneurial capacity projects and collaborative group activities. To reinforce classroom instruction and to offer students real world experience, students will have an opportunity to work in the School Store “Clipper Corner”. Students will learn the daily operations of the school store.
