This course is designed for the student with a serious interest in United States History. It covers the same chronological period—Reconstruction through the 1920s--as US History Part II, but in more depth. Time is allotted for simulations, research assignments, and detailed projects. The reading of supplementary materials is required in addition to the basic text. Major research projects are assigned regularly. Students should be strong writers and possess superior study skills and personal time management. In addition, students should meet the “Prerequisites for Honors Placement” section in the Program of Studies.
