The Honors level requires students to read additional and more complex texts, to interpret literature independently, and to write and discuss with greater depth, detail, and skill. Additionally, the reading and application of literary criticism is used to foster deeper thinking about literature. Students work towards complexity of argument and stylistic maturity in both critical and analytical writing. A summer reading text is required and the summer assignment must be completed prior to the start of the school year.
