The Honors level course requires students to read additional and more complex texts, to analyze and interpret literature independently, and to write with greater depth, detail, and skill. This course is offered to students who are above average readers with advanced language skills and who are motivated to read and work at a pace that requires considerable effort and ability. Students should be capable of reading higher level texts independently and writing multi-paragraph essays as demonstrated by their performance in Freshman Literature and Composition. A summer reading text is required and must be completed prior to the start of the school year.
