Career Exploration

NHS offers a wide range of resources and partnerships to support career exploration. Examples include Spring and Summer programs through Whittier Tech, the Annual NHS Internship & Job Fair, and opportunities with the Peterson School, among others.

Planning for your Future

Does a traditional 4-year college not seem like a good fit for you? Would you rather work with your hands? Do you have an interest in working sooner rather than later? Then you have come to the right place! Explore your options and dive into the world of possibility. Please use this link to explore additional opportunities

Explore the Trades

We're opening up our school to give prospective students the opportunity to check out our classrooms, labs and all of the trade career options that The Peterson School has to offer. Students will experience first-hand the skills needed in each of our programs and discover where their talents fit best for a fulfilling career in the trades. For more information, please reach out to Mr. Ribaudo-Smith.

Whittier Tech CTI Program - The Career Technical Initiative (CTI) at Whittier is designed to address the ongoing demand for skilled workers in the manufacturing and construction trades across Massachusetts. This program is available to high school graduates only.

Each participant receives:

  • 200 hours of hands-on technical training

  • Industry-Recognized Credentials (IRC)

  • Career counseling and job placement support

CTI Summer 2026 Interest Form is now LIVE! This form will remain live through May (as we fill all programs). We will reach out to all interested students who complete the form in the month of March to begin the registration and onboarding process. We will be interviewing participants for all programs this year - not just welding, plumbing, and electrical.

Program Flyer

We also now have a CTI website where students can learn more about the program options including a video for each trade program.

For more information, please reach out to your counselor or Mr. Ribaudo-Smith.
